Ahmedabad:  Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said they expect their parties to come to power in Gujarat as the state held the first phase of voting in a closely-watched election today. Gujarat saw 68 per cent voter turnout in the phase of voting held in Kutch, Saurashtra and south Gujarat today, the Election Commission said. This is lower than last time’s 71.3 per cent for the whole state. “I am seeing that BJP is headed towards a historic victory,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in tweet.
